Team Building is part of Gilmont's culture, and it is best learned when experienced hands-on. We can talk about the importance of practicing good communication, being cooperative, showing commitment and caring for others. But, a lecture is no substitute for putting these words into practice.
Team Building activities are presented as a tool, not simply a means to an end. They are challenging games and activities designed, not for competition, but rather for helping the group learn by experience, often by failing. The important part is wrap-up, where participants look deeply into what has happened and what can be learned from the experience. The activities are discussed with the group and students apply what they have learned to "real world" situations.
