The Value of Field Experiences
Camp Gilmont Outdoor School provides a setting where students ask the questions and together we find the answers through our experiences in nature. Exploring and using the five senses, scientific tools, field guides, and careful observation, students record findings in a scientific format, then draw conclusions about the world around them.
All necessary scientific equipment is provided and meets the state’s educational objectives. During hands-on activities, students have the opportunity to use: GPS units, compasses, thermometers, spring scales, meter tapes, aquatic nets and boots, magnifying loops, and telescopes.
